Hello!

Unfortunately I had to miss the General Session this morning which is probably where this annoucement is set to take place but perhaps it has something to do with the GNOC being built for Sprint. GNOC = Global Network Operations Center and it usually resembles what we've seen in movies like WarGames.

It's the central monitoring station for a network and Novell has built one for the State of Ohio Dept. Of Human Services. They used products like NetWare 4.10, ManageWise, NDS, intraNetWare for SAA (to access IBM minicomputers like an AS/400), GroupWise and GNOC*.

They also used software from companies like HP (OpenView) and some others to help fill in the gaps. You can read more about it at:

ps - if I hear anything different I'll see what I can dig up on it. Some days I feel like Geraldo Rivera.... :)
