I don't agree with you at all. Lots of good information on the site and allows you to not only look for new cars but connect with used car buyers and sellers. Allows you to sell your car over the internet ... pretty good idea. And if we use your logic .... why would i buy anything online when I could go down the street a few miles and look at it in the store. AUTOWEB.COM allows you to comparison shop WITHOUT having to give your personal information and face a salesman (like many people don't like to do)unless you want to. Your comments sound like the same ones somebody made about Amazon.com, "who would wanna buy a book online when I can go to the bookstore and look at it and buy it now?" Look at Amazon now.

Actually,

When I lived 'rural' a few years back, we tried an internet method of shopping for a car. I don't remember the company, but the closest participating dealer that got 'hit' was over 350 miles away. For the heck of it we waited to be contacted and never were. We ended up driving 30 miles (the closest dealer) and getting our car there the old fashioned way (haggling)....
