can you sell a put that is not naked?

the risk is less than writing a covered call, for it is established at time of sale....max risk=strike -premium=cost basis

it is a conservative investment tool providing you look at it as same

it is grossly misunderstood by most brokers and many non full service firms...

not sure how it is marked to market as you claim..if you sell against cash/capacity...you've established your max risk with the strike price...can't increase as a margin buy does...never have to add cash as long as you have capacity...

Larry-looking at your chart one must buy long into DELL before it hits the 200MDA . One might feel some short term pain but catching the very 200MDA is to risky. Thanks for the chart. I sold out of my DELL and move it towards EBAY when I saw Yahoo running late this afternoon.
