An ITAR-TASS newswire correspondent said windows of the Foreign and Defense Ministries buildings were lit throughout Tuesday night and that the ministers were on hand at their offices. Defense Minister Igor Sergeyev has told reporters that all actions by the Defense Ministry will be aimed at increasing the combat readiness of Russia's armed forces. According to the information available to TASS, in case the situation takes an unfavorable turn for Russia, the Ministry is "preparing proposals on possible deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Byelorussia." The DRUDGE REPORT issued a bulletin Tuesday evening reporting that Moscow is set to provide military help to Belgrade and the Serbs if NATO strikes.
