chuzz...thanks the bearish definition input... i beg to differ as far as conservative bearish strategy...there exists still unlimited upside risk if the underlying short rises in price...it is only offset by the original premium received from the put sale...you can get a limited profit if the underlying is below the strike price at expiration...it is a little used strategy as in lacks a true benefit... short position in the underlying still very real until brought in.. as usual, i stand to be corrected...thanks, ed a.
