Young - it's hard to be very detailed on a message board. However, broadly speaking - it's the result of TA work.

I'm expecting a decline in the general market around April 1. Furthermore, the initial rush of a split plays out faster in a nervous market (such as we are having).

I figure that by Thursaday (April 1), the first wave of those who wanted to buy the "cheap" (I'm well aware they are not really cheap, but you understand the point) MSFT shares will have been exhausted. Further, some selling pressure will enter too - as soon as buying pressure drops, the price will dip slightly, and that could be a signal for those who came in for the split play to take profits, as well as a certain number of people will feel comfortable disposing a part of their shares of MSFT (as they now have "twice as many"). Others will simply rebalance their portfolios, and MSFT has a tendency through sheer growth to overweigh a portfolio <g>.

Of course there will be some volatility, as the following week starting April 6 money may start flowing to MSFT again, as people start working on their contributions, taxes etc - so what may get cheap on April 1 or 2, could go up in price the following week.

I hope this explains my April 1 date.

These are just my opinions. Do your own DD.

Good luck.
