Mohan,

Logically thinking (yeah, right) maybe not all Affirmation request are are confirmed, so they send out a few extra, kind of like the airlines over booking? It's the only explanation that I can think of, or they are sadist! Remember I'm just guessing.

If anyone knows please enlighten us

Best Wishes

Antonio

Mohan, the affirmation request allows participants to back out. For example, I backed out of FOB and ARGY (thank you very much), so they have to send some extra to make sure all shares are allocated.

However, I agree with you that this affirmation thing need not be there. Wit cites some SEC regulation that requires consent from the investor after the registration becomes effective, but other online brokers such as E*Trade are doing fine without such a step. Also, because of the unreliability of email, Wit should have made this step something that happens through the web.

P.S. Got ONEM affirmation request.
