I think you are dreaming in thinking Jackson would give more to the states than they would get in a settlement.

And I think you're dreaming if you think Microsoft would give up more in a settlement at this stage than they're likely to lose at trial. To do so would be a management turnaround more astounding than their late (almost Gore-ian) discovery of the internet in 1996. I really think they're too convinced that their current course and their past actions are and were justified. They're not going to give up.

And... I hope I'm wrong. I just don't see any sign of it so far.

Tech,

I think that it's too early to call what judge Jackson will do. Still a long way to go, and maybe the most dramatic actions will be saved for the final days.

Anyway, I tend to agree that the trial is no longer such a great stock price mover as it used to be. Maybe the stock holders and the street are getting tired of the whole issue.
