Ah - with the point regarding retroactive increases I can easily agree I always tell my friends not to open Roth IRAs for this very reason: with a normal IRA, you take your tax break today. With a Roth, the government promises to give it to you tomorrow. And I will gladly pay you Tuesday, 2029 for a hamburger today.. <g>

Yes, it needs growth before it becomes a 'viable' third party, but it's a heckuva lot further along than when I joined more years ago than I care to recall.
