In fact, they will have to tax everyone's retirement plan since the unfunded liabilities issue has never been adequately addressed...and if the market doesn't hold up, we can kiss the budget surplus good-bye.

(This makes two of us. I use the same arguments and can't understand why people trust politicians that they will not tax Roth IRA in the future. There is nothing to stop them.)

OTOH, there will be no need for them to tax Roth's. By the time the taxes on conversions have started to roll off, the asset forfeiture laws will be in full force and taxes will be irrelevant and unnecessary. Every public department and agency will be able to live off the land by self-funding.
