I find P&F charting to be a quantitative representation of the qualitative information contained in candlesticks. I like them both and look for patterns to confirm each other for higher confidence.
I am not interested in hopping from one stock to the next on a daily/weekly basis. I am trying to put together a solid portfolio of 10-20 stocks which will be good for the next ten years. After I have identified the proper candidates based on their good fundamentals, I will time my entries into these stocks. Once I have entered the stocks at respectable levels, I will use the options market and TA to generate an income stream. The strategy, once employed, will require little maintenance, other than following option expiry dates.
I am following MDA because it will help write the plays I'll be utilizing (timing is important but you don't need to be perfect). Strategy: employ stocks as a vehicle to generate income by selling a time decaying derivative. Tactics: Fundamental analysis to determine sound vehicles(good sound, team players) , market timing analysis to develop a play book (choosing the right play at the right time. You don't want to run plays for first downs all the time, you get three downs to get 10 yards, for the first down) , and options to run the plays. My goal is to generate a portfolio of stocks which I can choose to run plays to generate an income. I am just getting started but, I already know it will work.
