I got this post from YAHOO and am wandering if anyone can explain what this guy is talking about. Is his opinion correct about rambus being a flop?

There has been absolutely no news since the 19th, so I did did my Intel web search again. I
found two highly technical posts only and ee could love.

RMBS headed down with rest of market short term

================================================================
These pdfs show one of the basic problems with rambus, the limited signal swing which reduces
the noise margin. The lower impedance will require the lines to use two ground planes, versus
one, which really isn't a big deal, or as big a deal as the noise problems. Note that two ground
planes really won't make the MB more expensive or bigger if there is a reduction in overall
board area due to the serial vs parallel interface.

All things considered, for a technological standpoint rambus is going to be a flop. Intel hasn't
even begun to talk about BER (Bit error rate). Rambus based systems will most likely not be as
rugged due to the lower noise margin, clock jitter problems, etc.

As for rambus being down with the rest of the market, here is what I tracked today, with names
removed as to not plug stocks.
