Although I agree with you I would not totally dismiss the possibility. Maybe Ebay is recognizing the potential of B2B and wants to outright buy BII software/technology. Sometimes in fast growing markets the biggest always wins.
It does seem unlikely for two reasons. 1) why would Ebay wait for Nasdaq when valuations would be much higher 2) even if Paul Godin could not afford bus fare you'd think he'd wait till the deal went down before selling at lower levels.
