You state the bull case well (or let MD state it for you).

Many times I see portfolios with great companies owned at pennies a share cost basis. The reason? Because they held those great companies (led by visionaries) for many years, bull and bear markets alike, nifty fifty and all and never paid attention to the swan dives or dizzying moves up. They just followed the company's progress and as long as it continued to do what they expected, they held.
