<<Subject: Re: The purveyors of Doom and gloom and the market

....not at all. It's a weird issue. No one outright will say q1 stinks, but everyone is worried. A few are blaming compaq, while some others say Dell is the one that is dragging it down. Right now, I am just waiting for the numbers. The conclusive proof of what actually occured won't be out until then. Right now, too much smoke. >>

Too Much Smoke....The CNET editor says it all....That Smoke IMHO creates a GREAT buying opportunity....

Lets watch for the reporting around DELL's ANALyst conferences and
around the next earnings release.

Scott

Boy if this pans out like I think it will, there is going to be a lot of investors and reporters, with egg on their face, and DELL stock is going scream higher from all the shorts that have piled on. If I was short I would be scared.

The CNET guys response is about right for now. He is hearing those things and he doesn't want to be strung out and blindsided. So, he's being cautious and saying we will learn soon enough.

Had Rollins included specific statements about expecting to make estimates for revenues and earnings, well that would have made the rounds in headline form.
