Regarding the lawsuits:

Please read the Compaq Annual Shareholders Report.
You will notice that CPQ does not settle these suits out of court. In fact I believe that there are still two seperate class action insider trading lawsuits still pending from before 1995 (one CPQ, one Digital).

jim kelley: The UK is not the US. Ads here are quite different. Brits do not have a strong tradition of buying direct or from catalogues - they like local stores and expect guarantees and service. I would think that the CPQ campaign, if properly executed, would also appeal to their sense of fair play and reinforce the picture that COMPAQ is a European-like company and DELL a fast-talking bombastic and not quite trustworthy Yankee company.

Besides, DELL TV ads here seem to be featuring "Intel Inside" more than they feature the "Dell" factor.

I know this won't convince you jim, there is no arguing over religious belief.
