Khan, No, because there aren't terrestrial base stations everywhere in the world and never will be. Though it does mean that handsets will work anywhere in the world where there is coverage. That is good for Globalstar and good for everyone except non-CDMA suppliers.

What it will mean is that the world goes cdmaOne and WWeb so demand for GSM/Globalstar handsets will shrink quickly [before it has even started]. Handsets will be cdmaOne/Globalstar or WWeb/Globalstar once GSM has been overlaid with CDMA by Qualcomm.
