Thanks for the plexies.
I was wondering if it would be efficacious to separate periods over which a stock was scanned to show performance during an overall down trend of, say, 9 months or more from that during an overall uptrend. It seems to me that if the stock being backtested were in an uptrend when "hit", results from periods when it was in a downtrend might tend to skew the numbers possibly masking better potential. Conversely, if the stock hit on the multiplex when in a general downtrend, backtest performance numbers from when it was in an uptrend would offer too optimistic a view.
Just a thought to run by Craig and yourself.
