John,

They are equally unlikely to be influenced by any disclaimer given prior to a speaker with a particular bias appearing.

It would be nice if CNBC could focus on providing financial news rather than entertainment gimmicks, public notices and other distractions.

Perhaps an all day Saturday special to educate the novices would be in order.

Hour 1: Michael Metz - Permanently depressed bear who's never made a correct call in his life.

Hour 2: Michael's twin: Barton Biggs - Made 1 correct call but nobody can remember what it was.

Hour 3: Laslo Byrini: Consistently accurate in both short and long term directions; but most of you have never heard of him before.

Hour 4: Joe Granville and Elaine Garzarelli: 1 correct call, forever hunting for past glory.

...

JMHO,
Ian

we should have some unit of measure on the speakers performance. New investors are watching cnbc every day and are not familiar with the Joe Granville etc. John
