It is the large brokerage firms that are appealing to the govt to curtail daytrading. These rich %#*&s are seeing that people do have the brains to do their own stock buying and selling. There are several brokers in the local area here that call me from time to time...well, they used to anyhow. I showed them my acct statements from last year and the first two statements from this year and they don't call anymore. These brokers are eating up people's profits. Another thing they do daily is: Stock price manipulation. I would go to jail if I did what they did. When they are ready to sell a position, they "upgrade" the stock. Over the last two days, institutions have been selling and the number of upgrades are increasing so they can sell their half million shares to the little guys that are buying based on their recommendations and upgrades. I could go on and on..... enough for now.
