TD, look at this. A kid or toddler at G 8 stage or more and look at reasoning behind placebo. Do you know how placebo effect is demonstrated under these conditions? BTW FAQ are updated.
Why are placebo-controlled trials used? (2/99)
Blinded, controlled trials are the accepted scientific approach to demonstrate the efficacy of new drugs while avoiding bias that can result when clinical benefits are erroneously attributed to a drug in the absence of a comparison group who did not receive the drug (AKA the "placebo effect"). Most regulatory authorities and clinicians judge the safety and efficacy of new therapies on the results of placebo-controlled studies. The scientific community and the voting public supports this approach as the accepted way to provide for safe and effective drugs.

Xomers? I'm not sure I'd care to be called that! How about Xomaites or Xomoans? I'm open to additional suggestions. The first person who suggests Xomataspores will incur my everlasting contempt.
