I know what "AT&T potentially wants" to do, ala phone over
the cable wire, all that. That doesn't involve ATHM at all.
AT&T only owns the cable lines formerly owned by TCI. There
are many other cable partners who also own chunks of ATHM,
and AT&T has ZERO influence or power over them.

Fast pipes are great, packaged content is fluff. Buying
packaged content does not force users to use it - I ignore
ATHM's content, because I tried it and did not find it at
all attractive. I can still click the @Home icon and use it,
but choose not to. That's my point. Buying more content is
a waste of money if they want to please me - I just want speed.
I suspect I'm not alone, and that was my point.
