Are you using a direct-access system or a traditional on-line broker? This post caught my attention in particular the part about late reporting. With a direct-access system you get immediate confirmation of orders received, executed, and cancelled. The more time I spend on S.I. the more I notice complaints like yours and it's disturbing to hear not only execution related problems but problems with even determining whether or not your order is "live".
