It's a little more involved than switching warheads. It's a conversion that costs in excess of $16 million per missile. I also have misgivings about degrading our nuclear WR stockpiles, but our new nuclear doctrine seems to concentrate more on submarine launched ballistic missiles, land based ICBMs, and aircraft carried gravity bombs, like the B61 and B83.

Also, in the interim before the next generation of munitions is in production like the JDAAM, we still have a sizeable stockpile of AGM-130, rocket propelled, 2000lb., precision guided weapons.

Not that I trust Bubba, I don't. Fortunately we have a Congress that has kept him from disassembling the military altogether. If it was up to him he would have already burned them out with "meals on wheels", traffic cop deployments.
