PAL, I thought I said all of that. Maybe I was too wordy.

Collateral is not the issue. Ignore it. The amount of money the position can lose defines the risk. Edamo's approach would improve if there were greater time value in the put, but still, it misses the much greater appreciation potential of the pure long position at prices above the striking price.

the put selling strategy as don and i use must be looked at in totality...in essence..."the sum of the whole is worth more than the parts"....not a typo....just a twist on the old saying to emphasize cumulative effect...good luck, ed a.
