The Nasdaq is a negotiated market; that something is offered at your price doesn NOT mean you are entitled to a fill. You have to scurry about to many market makers to find pieces. Trust me, i was dealing in big blocks of beam the last two days. It hasnt been easy. The stock is crazed. Anyway, they may have been going into the market maker offering stock , didnt get any, then tried to put you on the bid...too late.
tough market. tough exchange. you wouldnt have that on a listed exchange like the NASD...like a bunch of mice scurrying around from car dealer to car dealer as each changes their price , as themice step on to the lot.
no disrespect meant by the mice analogy.
