Why spend all that money to develop WCDMA when CDMA 2000 is already here. On top of it you just boiught it. It is in Eric's interest to run with what they have. I am also assuming that Ericy will pay Qcom if they use patents in WCDMA. These things were not disclosed but I cant imagine that they wouldnt protect their interest's. The spin was in Ericy's favor, but i think alot was left unsaid. If Qcom didnt protect themselves for that type of scenario, then it would be pretty neglagent.

I think this is it !

It reminds me of the real story a few years ago with the settlement of the (bitter) strike against U.P.S.

I heard that part of the settlement deal was for management to agree to keep their mouths shut about the fact that, in reality, management had "won."
