Anyone who wants to invest in a company who's mission is to compete against a powerful monopoly several orders of magnitude larger it's size, had better be aware that there is risk- and that it might take multiple engineering attempts to produce a financial win.

At least AMD is still alive. Intel has put a lot of other competitors out of business over the years.
