QCOM simply had no choice. Eventually they reached a juncture where there was a choice, and I trust their judgement.

Again, it isn't that I think that QCOM is going to languish (I think that they will outperform ERICY over the next year or two), but that they could have done a lot better. They originally said they would not license their IPR unless they got a converged chip rate etc., but in the end they licensed it without any guarantees in most of the areas. I am sure that I could find quotes from most on this board, including myself, claiming that Qualcomm had Ericsson over a barrel. Obviously either they didn't or Qualcomm blinked, and what surprises me is the number of people saying that it met their expectations.
