I may have posted something about this before..but got nothing back....so here goes.:

I'm trying to find a broker who will sell a "Buy-Write". My understanding is that if you find the right broker....(and it's possible that no discount broker will do them)...that you buy the stock at the ask....but you also sell the CC at the ask....so the difference is you get the difference between bid-ask on the CC you're writing.

So far...I'm getting Zero. Ameritrade didn't seem to understand my question.....and it sounds like they will just do 2 transactions (so I'll get the CC at the bid)......and InvestTrade just said "No"

anybody doing any BuyWrites....(I know...it goes against the WINS dictum...of waiting for the stock to go up...and then writing the CC)...but???>>>

Herm,

I have been using Dreyfus Brokerage Services for over a year now and have no major complaints with them. You can do all of your trades via the internet except on spreads you have to call in the sell (to open) side. Same is true on selling (to open) puts.

Stock trades whether limit or market orders are $15 per trade.
Option orders are $1.75 per contract with a minimum of $15.
I usually do 8 at a time for economies of scale.

P.S. I got the LEAPS book today and have read about the first 75 pages or so. Nothing much new yet, but I think I'm just getting to the good stuff.

Regards...Phillip
