C-Cube Microsystems Gets MediaOne Technology Pact >CUBE 03/25/99 Dow Jones News Service (Copyright (c) 1999, Dow Jones & Company, Inc.) MILPITAS, Calif. (Dow Jones)--MediaOne Group Inc. (UMG) selected C - Cube Microsystems Inc.'s (CUBE) digital video system-on-silicon technology to enable interactive communication using cable and set-top boxes. Terms weren't disclosed. MediaOne will install the cable. Royal Philips Electronics NV (PHG) will build the set-top boxes. In a press release Thursday, C - Cube Microsystems said its DiviCom Corp. unit will build cable head-end equipment that will link cable to the set-top boxes. Set-top boxes are devices that deliver digital video to television sets. C - Cube Microsystems develops digital video silicon systems. MediaOne provides broadband servcies.
