"Degussa launches platinum-based car catalyst:" uses Pt instead of Pd to improve removal of nitrous oxides ( biz.yahoo.com ). "Degussa says Russia to lose sway over PGM market:" in that catalyst developments probably won't reduce overall dependance on pgms, just bring their use into line with mining ratios ( biz.yahoo.com ). Neither of these company news releases mentions other pgms in the catalyst, but a Bridge News (story .14967) does: "The second metal used in the converter is rhodium" ( crbindex.com ).
