Hi Harry. I didn't know that you were still in QCOM. You really are a looooooooooong-term investor. Your broker must hate it.

With respect to QCOM, they did the right thing by selling their infrastructure business. We talked about that in early 98(poor infra. products). I am a bit surprised to see ERICY as the buyer. It sort of proves that ERICY's effort(expertise) in 3G(cdma-wise) development is not as far along as they claim.

As far as common 3G standard that supports w-cdma & cdma2000, this is an excellent long-term solution that would lower cost of ownership(what operators care most about) by providing common chipsets & platforms(more digital than RF). Short-term, making changes/merging the two standards and/or providing for some sort of common mode, is going to affect 3G mfrs. like LU & MOT with on-going development projects. There will be some push outs. Even QCOM needs to re-think their 3G chipset offerings.

ADCT volume & news? Made a new high, Harry. That would do the volume trick.

Congratulations on your 46 QCOM points. It must have put 46 years on you, worrying about it. Now go and buy an internet stock. Just kidding.

Take care.

Clint
