William,

I have done much better since blocking cnbc 3-4 years ago. I can still get quick reports other ways and it prevents the gloom and doom and negativity from being pumped into your brain.

Naturally, I see it when I go on any trips. I can't even begin to tell you the reaction this creates in me when I haven't a clue what these negative bozo's are saying all the time. Last August I would catch Pisani(SP?) every am. You'd think the world was going to end. Here I am rolling around 50-100 indicators around in my head all the time, constantly reconfiguring, and concluding that things are good and I need to do X. Then these morons are on TV drawing their idiotic conclusions, flawed and superficial, and they establish credibility with their existence on the soap box.

Did anyone of them suggest the market would explode today when it was struggling at 9 yesterday? Yet, there were some of us who did know. SI is so much more useful.

KCBT gets approval for new Internet stock index
KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 25 (Reuters) - The Kansas City
Board of Trade has received final government approval to begin
trading futures and options based on an index of Internet
stocks, KCBT officials said Thursday.
The Internet Stock Index (ISDEX) is scheduled to kick off
June 1, and will be made up of stocks in 50 U.S. Internet
companies. Included in the index are Mindspring Enterprises
Inc. <MSPG.O>, Yahoo Inc. <YHOO.O>, America Online Inc. <AOL.N>
and others that derive their revenue from Internet-related
software, hardware, content, commerce and communications/access
sectors.
"The increasing economic importance of the Internet,
combined with the sector's stock volatility and corresponding
need for risk management, makes the ISDEX contracts a
compelling financial instrument," said Michael Braude, KCBT
president.
"KCBT ISDEX contracts will bring the risk transfer, price
discovery and financial strength of the futures industry to the
Internet," Braude added.
The exchange is still working out the details of web site
trading access, said KCBT officials.
