Enough of fortune cookies talk! Cymer rebounds a little today while most of the tech/semi stocks are rebounding very strong.

Should we be nervous here? CYMI got hit yesterday too and we only rebounding by 3/8 only today. It was up 1+ in the morning but can't hold on. The fundamental is very strong here and having the positive upgrade from Morgan and Merril should propel the stock price above mid 20's. Could you guys fill me up here? Is these big boys/brokers just talk or they are actually accumulating?

later,,,

Jay,

No sweat... When DS said "He who knows nothing is confident of everything...", he was describing himself. ... perfectly. ;-)

Jay, why is everyone "ganging" up on Doug, stock prices may sometimes reflect the competitive environment a good 18 months down the road, and by then Lambda might have a niche. After all, Lambda is part of Coherent, and those guys are now slouches in the laser business in general. Furthermore, it not so much how many systems Lambda or Komatsu can or will ship, their presence will keep a cap on what right now is a rapidly accelerating ASP per new generation of those lasers. For the next year or two, however, this acceleration in ASP means fatter margins and lower break even point, so rejoice.

Right now, however, I would worry more about the lack of announcement of new fabs than about the possible outbreak of fierce competition.

Zeev

I gave you the facts: cymer will not be the sole source supplier for asm. Cymer will continue to lose market share. Cymer's monopoly position is eroding, thus undeserving of its high multiple. If everything at cymer is so perfect, why does its stock price continue to suffer? Why do insiders continue to dump shares? Why did the Morgan Stanley upgrade have no lasting effect on its price?

Instead of following the cheerleading on this thread, do a little research.
