wayne - I have already posted all I know - there is an announcement scheduled for innovate on some joint work - probably a follow-up to the september announcements around joint development of advanced 'enterprise ready' systems. But this was Tandem technology primarily, with only a sprinkling of DEC stuff. The writer of this article obviously thinks that the VMS code base is the basis of this work, which is not very likely. NT is not really based on VMS but on an OS called MICA which cutler developed at DECWest in the late 1980's.
