Do you recognize this: #reply-8526728 -- from MU thread, purports to describe DRAM and mpc pricing. Intel pricing "remains weak" - ?

<Alpha went through a very bad development period for several years under the weight of Merced FUD. There is some evidence that Alpha is coming back to life.>

No, it's not Merced FUD. Stop diverting attention from the real issue, Scumby. It only makes your Clinton-esque attributes glare.

First of all, the 21264 was already late and well behind original performance estimates. (Yeah yeah, Merced is also late, but the 21264's shortcomings have nothing to do with Merced.) Second, Xeon servers are making such a strong showing w/out the help of Merced. In response, Compaq has to struggle and reposition Alpha in niche markets. And third, show me the evidence that Alpha is coming "back to life" as you say.

Perhaps your hopes for Alpha reflect your hopes for K7. Looks great on the foils, but chances are they'll be hampered by poor execution and marketing.

What's the evidence? I'm interested to investigate.

It's certainly not sales.

What could it be?
