Web-Based Solution from Industri-Matematik and Calico Optimizes Supply Chain Execution at Telia Systems
MARLTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 1999--Telia Systems has extended its relationship with Industri-Matematik International Corp. (NASDAQ:IMIC) to include the implementation of a web-based sales support system from Calico Technology. Calico's eSales Suite of software applications will be integrated with Industri-Matematik's Supply Chain Management Suite, System ESS, which Telia licensed last year.
The integration of these two systems will enable Telia's sales staff to configure a wide range of complex services and products, with visibility all the way through the supply chain system to the current inventory status and exact delivery date.
The integration of the Industri-Matematik and Calico software will enable the automatic translation of a proposal into an electronic order and effectively provide a closed loop from customer interest to invoice. At a later stage, the system is planned to be connected to Telia's web-based points of entry to enable their customers and retail dealers to place a direct order over the Internet. Industri-Matematik is responsible for the implementation of the Calico solution and its supply chain management software, System ESS.
"By integrating Calico's tool with our existing customer-driven solution, Telia will have a real-time supply chain management solution that delivers competitive advantage all the way from customer order to settlement," said Johan Wastlund, Nordic Sales Director, Industri-Matematik. "The concept makes cooperation between two world-leading software vendors possible, and Telia's customers will be the winners."
"The implementation of the sales support system means that we can shorten the time needed to manage an order, simplify our sales administration and improve our service for each individual customer, which will improve our competitive edge," said Thomas Gronlund, Vice President and Head of Business Solutions at Telia Systems. "We studied the market extensively and found that the combination of Industri-Matematik's supply chain solution and Calico's solution was unbeatable."
"It is interesting to work with Telia Systems on a project where the emphasis is on rationalizing order management throughout the process," said Paul Greenfield, Vice President European Operations, Calico Technology. "Telia Systems operates in a fiercely competitive market segment and we believe that this strategy will be key to its future revenue growth and profitability. Our partner, Industri-Matematik, has many years experience in the automation of the supply chain and has a fantastic reputation for the quality of its software and consulting services."
