If Hitler would have been content to simply gas millions of Germans without invading the rest of Europe, would that have made the West any less pure in intent for their outrage and defiance? Would it have been better to simply shrug and walk away from the diplomatic deadlock and let the fire burn on? At what point do you decide to act when the fire is at your bedside? Cowardice and indifference are not virtues. Russia and China are not outraged that Serbia is being bombed, they are outraged as to *who* is doing the bombing. The Russians didnt seem too upset about their "humanitarian effort" when they invaded Afghanistan. NATO doesnt want a puppet state unlike the Russians, NATO wants the fire extinguished at their doorstep. That, in my opinion, is justified. If we were attempting nation-building, as in Somalia, Id say "hell no."
