dell's business is quickly going south with all the other boxmakers.

Aren't you guys confusing profitability with market share? Dell is gaining mkt share... come on!

gdr, retail revs were down 16% - first time pc revs were ever acknowledged to be negative in the history of the pc. sales slowing for 3 years and running. now negative. still declining. no turn around in site. channels are stuffed. sub $600 pc is 20% of the market (0% last year). $299 pc coming shortly. y2k concerns mounting. dell says revs will sequentially increase in mid single digits (30%??? down from 60%???). dell says they have to lower prices. two rev misses in a row for dell - the first time in 4-5 years they even had one rev miss.
