Its a little hard to explain Red.
The main haulage is over, the road is run by Nunalogistics, they have the land use permit for it and run several relay stops. They also charge for using it. They are pulling the camps out because the main haulage is over.
After that you can use the road but it is at your own risk, not theres. IE they are not maintaining it. They will do night runs, days if weather permits for the next week or two. If things are good.
They keep track of trips and it seems almost all the trips needed have been done so its not economic to maintain the camps etc.
If it warms up sometimes they block the road to stop yaoos with 4x4s tearing up the portages but if someone has a few trips to make and its cold again, yes they will reopen it but its a day by day thing and as I say its at your own risk so if you got stuck on a portage or weathered in etc thats your problem not theres.
Hope that helps
