Cash was the option and the problem. Since I paid cash for everything I didn't have much of a credit history. I had another card I used every 3 or 4 months and always paid off but that wasn't enough. I have a non GM card now and use it all the time for gas and stuff. Funny but GM did send me a card a couple of months ago without me even asking. I threw it away.

Same with Sears. Wife had a card there. Got a bill and paid it that day. Next month got a bill for interest on the first one. Called them. They got the payment it time but didn't get it entered so I owed because it sat in their in basket. It's been 14 years since I've been in a Sears store. Used to spent a couple of grand there a year. $1.21 cost them my business.
