gmccon, It's a tough issue. The thing that concerns me is that NATO unlike Operation Desert Storm does not have UN backing. Indeed Russia and China are screaming for a Security Council Meeting...(China sees parallels of course with the US defending Taiwan in a similar fashion sometime in the future).. Russia-if it chooses- could checkmate NATO simply by deploying some Russian Ground troops in Yugoslavia- who first dares to bomb the Russian Bear? Just remember that's a damn big natural gas pipline running from Russia to Western Europe carrying all of that Russian gas..... And remember- one year ago Milosevic went to the famous Serbian/Turkish war memorial in Kosovo and vowed never to allow Serbia to be defeated again.....We'll see....
