Besides the "art" comment, I agree with your post. We are seeking relative differences. While precision is not there in data or programs, TA beats the other methods of deciding entry/exit. We do have to use common sense.

Wisdom is the ability to put things in perspective.

More simply said this is an art, not quite a prercise science - so don't try too hard to make it that.

Dear John,
Volume is an integral part of my trading. That is a fact. I have consistently made money on patterns that include volume as a confirmation to the price action. Nothing new here, nothing special. It's been done since the early tape readers, and it's simple. This is an art, after all.

But to blindly assume that I take any scan output as "scientific gospel" is to rudely show your concept of me and why I needed to find the answer to that question.

As it was, I was getting a slightly different output from the QP scan than I was getting from the Metastock Exploration, and I was curious as to why this was happening. The volume equation was a possibility, and ended up being the answer. Due to the knowledge base found on this thread, I knew there was help available here, even tho my question was very basic and simply a QP language mistake on my part. (After all, I have just spent the last so-many years writing Explorations in Metastock language.)

I respectfully agree with you.
Please show a little my way, the rest of this thread certainly has.
Debra
