Alerts by Pager - Does anyone do this?
I am considering getting a pager and service
that I can set my own alerts to go off without
having to be tied down to the PC. I work
9 to 5+ and I can't be seen being on the net
that much.

Debra, alerts can be set in some software that
allows you to be notified by sound, or email,
or color on the ticker that some point you set
has been reached. Price, Volume, etc.
I haven't found a program that works well yet,
but I'm giving up doing it using a PC for a paging
service. - John.

debra, marketgems.com here is an article I put together on the alerts. you have to set them up yourself but you will understand when you look this over.

NTBK..That one always moves big, I would suggest you leave NTBK as part of a 'basket of internets' in your intermediate portfolio. One or two hundred shares go a long way. I've been in NTBK now for over 6 months and the position grows and wanes.. When NTBK is down I buy more more, when it is up I sell.. usually end up with a 200 share remnant. This is probably one of the best stocks (so far) to buy on dips, wait until the dip is the steepest, usually in the third day of a down trend.. I am thoroughly familiar with the price patterns of NTBK so I can usually tell when the selling pressure dissipates.
