The Bottom Line
Short term, AWEB will go up and it will go down. But, it's the overall trend in the long term that matters. You got to look at their potential. Do they actually sell cars? Well, no, they don't actually take delivery of cars and sell them. But, what they do, and what the web is all about, is provide a more efficient means for commerce to occur (hooking up the buyer and seller). Also, when it comes to buying cars and houses, I don't envision they will ever, ever be completely done over the internet due to their high costs. It's one thing to buy a book or CD on the web, but a $15,000 car? ha. forget it. But, AWEB provides the user a single source of searching for cars, assistance with the car buying decision (research reports, consumer financing options and contacts, insurance, car care, etc.), and a formum to talk about all things automobile with your neighbor.
Oh yeah, one other thing about the business model. The dealer referral fee is more of a cash flow thing, and will not be where AWEB makes their money long term. Long term, they will make their money by selling advertising and participating in the commerce of the sale of ancilliary services and goods.

One last thing, give this stock 30+ days, cause after 30 days, the underwriters and analysts, as well as the company, can start talking it up. Hang in there for AT LEAST another 30 days. A business pub article summed it up by saying that AWEBs business potential could draw in analysts and become a darling of inet analysts.
