Oh no, JDTrader - I most certainly noted the problems with index quotes - in fact on this board, I did notice that they don't appear to update every tick, here's the post:

<<The index quotes are strange. They seem not to update frequently. This is different behavior from before. Now what happens is that the quote ($COMPX and $INDU) will be correct, but on my other non-Cyber feed it will go through several quick changes while Cyber will be on the same number, then Cyber will update. Before, it used to be that Cyber would just have frozen quotes, or badly lagging. I don't know if I'm the only one having these problems.>>

In general I've been campaigning for accurate index quotes in many many posts, over a period of weeks and weeks.

The reason is simple. I've traded MSFT very intensly - 20-30 trades a day for a few months now. I also trade AOL. I find the index quotes an absolute necessity to guide me in the direction of my trades. I'm really blind without them. I cannot stress strongly enough, the importance of extremely accurate index quotes as a way to guage the general market conditions.

I find it astounding that Cyber cannot get good index quotes - this seems simpler than LII - unless I don't know something technical about this. But frankly - I don't care what the reason is - if other feeds can get accurate index quotes - why can't Cyber?? I'm not asking of Cyber anything that other brokers can't do.

I can understand that you gave up on Cyber. However, I have the hope that Cyber realizes the gravity of the situation and they take all measures to fix them. Otherwise, regardless of what I or anyone else says, they will lose customers. I post in the hope of alerting them to the fact that this situation cannot continue like this.

I am not anti-Cyber. In fact I fervently wish Cyber fixes their problems. I want them to be successful - because a successful broker will provide better service and keep the competition healthy in this industry - with benefits for all traders.

But time is running out. Cyber must fix their problems. I'm crossing my fingers.

>> From what I observed, I believe that cyberbroker's index prices are up-dated every 27 to 30 seconds.<<

I have traded with Watley, who has the same quote provider as Cyber (PC Quote) and with MB who uses S&P Comstock. At both places the Nasdaq index ticks every minute on the minute. I figured that that interval originated at the source, i.e. that Nasdaq computed the average only once-a-minute. Can anyone tell me definitely that I'm wrong about this?

Thanks,
wily

>>>>Speaking of commissions, make sure you double check your commissions with your own daily trading records, in that two out of three times, they charge you full commission for those trades that dont get filled by one party on the other side, and it is broken up into two or three trades, or when you end up re-entering an order for the left overs.<<<<<

I must say in checking my commissions.....they have been very accurate. I think that Brockerage ops has done a fine job.
