Much agreed. What the heck, VW brought back the Bug right? It sure would create some great publicity and bring back, for a moment anyway, the aura of the Ampex name. Personally, I'd love to see it. My guess is that after waxing nostalgic about it for an hour or so our boys at AXC would decide that they're betting the company on internet video and high end storage, to put time and resources towards this type of project would be time and money misplaced. Is there a place for a small spin-off company? How 'bout a few of those veteran AXC engineers start up "Ampex Vintage Audio"? I suspect that's the only way it would happen.
