Well, all one can hope, is that this exemplar of what Hannah Arendt called " the banality of evil ", lives his last days in a foreign prison, anxiety ridden, and in ill health.

And still it would be too good an ending for a creature who had total disregard for his own countrymen.

It has long been speculated that one reason that Hitler fought to the bitter end, thus dragging down the German nation, was his fear of falling into the hands of the Soviets. The image of Mussolini and his mistress being paraded about the square in Milan haunted him, and was at least one motive for shooting himself.
