PSIX - PSINet - bad news. Already trading down in pre-market. HERNDON, Va., March 26 (Reuters) - Internet service provider PSINet Inc. said Friday an international arbitrator has ordered the company to pay $49.0 million in damages for a failed joint venture to develop the European Internet market. PSINet plans to take steps to modify the decision because it believes the award to joint venture partner The Chatterjee Management Co. is excessive. But a company spokesman said options for appealing an arbitration decision are limited. The award results in a charge to fiscal 1998 results of $0.98 per diluted share but should not hurt future business,PSINet said.
